Polymarket runs several programs to reward people who make the platform more useful. Here's how each works.
Liquidity Rewards
Liquidity rewards pay traders who keep limit orders close to the market price, making it easier for others to trade. Rewards are usually calculated from how tight and how large your quotes are and how long they stay live [verify before publishing]. Rewards change by market and over time; check the rewards section of each market.
Maker Rebates and Taker Fees
On categories with fees, takers (who match existing orders) pay a fee, and part of it may be returned to makers (who post orders) as a rebate [verify before publishing]. See maker rebate and Polymarket fees. A "taker rebate" is less common; confirm current terms before relying on it.
The Polymarket Builders Program
The Polymarket Builders Program supports developers who build apps, bots and tools on Polymarket's API — for example, analytics dashboards or trading interfaces [verify before publishing]. Builders may receive grants or a share of fees. See Polymarket API and technology.
Referral Bonus and Affiliate Program
Polymarket has offered referral programs where existing users invite new ones [verify before publishing]. PredAcademy is part of an affiliate relationship with Polymarket: if you open Polymarket through our link, we may earn a commission. This never changes our explanations.
Is It Worth It?
Rewards can offset costs, but market making carries real risk: when news hits, resting orders get filled at bad prices. Rewards are not guaranteed income.
