Does Polymarket require KYC? The answer depends on which version you use and where you live. This guide explains the Polymarket KYC requirements for 2026 and the minimum age.
How Old Do You Have to Be to Use Polymarket?
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if it is higher, according to Polymarket's terms of service [verify before publishing]. This age requirement applies to both the international site and the US app.
KYC on Polymarket US
The regulated US app requires full identity verification ("know your customer", or KYC). Expect to provide your legal name, date of birth, address and a government ID, and possibly your Social Security number [verify before publishing]. This is standard for CFTC-regulated exchanges.
KYC on the International Site
The international site has historically let users sign up with a crypto wallet or email. Polymarket may still ask for identity verification in some cases, for example for large transactions, suspicious activity or legal requirements [verify before publishing]. Treat ID checks as something that can happen at any time.
We do not promote using any platform without verification, and we never explain ways to avoid KYC or country restrictions.
Does Polymarket Require ID to Withdraw?
Withdrawals can trigger checks. If a withdrawal is delayed, see how to withdraw from Polymarket and contact official support.
Is Kalshi KYC Required?
Yes. Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated exchange and requires full KYC for every account.
